Headteacher - The Linden Centre

Leadership L15 - L20 (£57,986 - £65,561)

Permanent

The Linden Centre is designated as a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). The vacancy for a Headteacher has arisen with the current post holder being promoted to the role of Executive Headteacher of a federation of PRUs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational leader with the vision and motivation to build on a successful provision, with an outstanding ethos, which meets the needs of some of the most vulnerable young people in Telford and Wrekin.

The Management Committee and the Local Authority wish to appoint a new Headteacher to:

  • Lead and manage the service to deliver great outcomes for our young people
  • Continue to develop this provision on the journey from Good to Outstanding
  • Play a major role in the further development of Alternative Provision across Telford and Wrekin
  • Work with other members of the Pupil Support Services Team to support all schools in the borough to develop inclusive practice and meet the expectations of the Telford and Wrekin ‘Belonging Strategy’.

The Linden Centre is currently based across three sites:

  • Linden Primary – providing Assessment and Intervention places as well as places for Permanently Excluded young people from Early Years to Key Stage 2.
  • Linden Secondary - providing Assessment and Intervention places as well as places for Permanently Excluded young people from Key Stage 3, as well as the more anxious Permanently Excluded learners from Key Stage 4.
  • Linden Mini-School – this operates as a resourced provision for young people with EHCPs with identified SEMH needs in Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of working in some form of alternative education as well as having a good understanding of developing inclusive practice in a mainstream environment.
