Dudley Children’s Services have redesigned and reconfigured a number of its placement services, we are now part of Adoption@Heart and this role will be a key interface with this service; we have reshaped the Fostering Service with significant improvement in its recruitment campaigns, ongoing support to foster carers and smooth transition for those carers wanting to apply for Special Guardianship.

To ensure the best outcomes and placement stability for children looked after and care leavers Dudley has been working in partnership with CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service) and the Clinical Commissioning Group to develop a multi-disciplinary Emotional Health and Well-Being Service, Dudley Lighthouse Links.

To drive these services forward we need an inspirational and highly motivated Service Manager, who is forward thinking and dynamic with the ability to work across services for children looked after and care management in securing placements and enabling placement stability.

For this post:

  • you will provide visible leadership to a service that strives for high quality practice and seeks to continuously improve outcomes
  • you will provide effective management of children in care and provider services, to achieve good, timely outcomes for vulnerable children and their families
  • you will be part of a supportive leadership team where you have the opportunity to innovate and develop your ideas and skills and where your learning will be encouraged.
  • You will need to have proven first line management experience and knowledge of care proceedings and children looked after.
  • You will have experience of managing cultural and organisational change, and of leading and championing a culture of strong partnership working across all disciplines

The successful candidates will possess significant experience in children’s social care, providing leadership, operational management and direction.

The post holders will be part of the Children’s Service Management team and will provide cover for colleagues when necessary and you will be required to undertake out of hours duty management cover for EDT.

You will be registered or eligible to be registered, on the HCPC register for qualified social workers.
