Job Details

Are you looking to make the next step in your career?  Are you keen to develop further and make a real difference?  Are you ready to take on exciting challenges?

Following the recent adoption of its Local Plan Allocations document, Lichfield District Council has already progressed work on a Local Plan Review.  The Council is looking to appoint a self-motivated leader and manager who can take forward the next elements of our spatial planning policy and help deliver on the District's sustainable growth needs and aspirations.

Lichfield District is an attractive area to live, work and visit located adjacent to the Birmingham conurbation, as such it throws up a number of interesting planning challenges.  In addition to working up new policies and setting the framework for longer term growth, the District Council is keen to see the plans and policies in its Local Plan delivered including providing for the essential strategic and community infrastructure.

This is a key position within the Authority and one that brings with it a lot of responsibility but also opportunity.  Consequently the Council seeks a professional, authorative and dedicated individual who inspires confidence in themselves and the people they will lead.  Most of all however, we want someone who is passionate about doing the best for the residents and communities of the District and making Lichfield District an even better place.

In return for bringing your skills, knowledge, experience and enthusiasm, we can offer a salary of up to £45,000 including market supplement, flexible working hours, Essential User car allowance and payment of professional fees, together with a pleasant working environment, a progressive and forward looking Authority and opportunities to grow and develop in the role.

Full details of the post are available in the attached Job Description & Person Specification.  Please note that this is a politically restricted post, and that access to a vehicle and a driving licence are essential.

For an informal conversation on this opportunity, please contact Craig Jordan (Head of Economic Growth & Development) on 01543 308202, or email craig.jordan@lichfielddc.gov.uk.
