SWAP Ltd – Bedworth

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic administrator to join our small, family run fostering agency.

The candidate will undertake a range of administrative tasks to support the business needs of the Fostering Agency.

Job activities include:

  • General administrative duties including: answering the telephone, receiving any visitors into the building, typing, minute taking, filing, safe and secure destruction of documents.
  • Liaising with other agencies and professionals through email, telephony services, post and representing the organisation in a professional manner.
  • Supporting and developing training to applicant and approved Foster Carers and staff/others as appropriate.
  • Supporting qualified and unqualified staff as appropriate.
  • supporting the Placement Portal functioning.  
  • Any other task as considered appropriate and commensurate with the role.
  • Maintaining Social Media Presence
  • Maintaining Excel Spreadsheets
  • Invoicing and general financial duties
  • Such other tasks as considered commensurate with this role.


Essential criteria:

  • Enhanced DBS (previously known as CRB) disclosure assessed as no relevant disclosures.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • An ability to work as part of a team and independently as required.
  • An ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and have experience of handling confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Experience of using a range of IT systems including MS Office.
  • An ability to work at least one Saturday per month – usually the last Saturday of each month – with occasional additional days for which T.O.I.L. (Time off in lieu) can be claimed.


Desirable Criteria:

  • Audio typing skills/experience/qualification
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration
  • Typing proficiency – skills/qualification i.e. 60 w.p.m.
  • Previous administrative skills experience in a Fostering Service, in a Local Authority or, Independent Fostering Agency Fostering Team.
  • Previous experience of working with Looked After Children

  • Competitive salary (C. £16,500 – £18,500) depending on skills/experience/qualifications.

N.B: This is a full time position of 37 hours per week, with the hours of business being 9 am - 5 pm , Monday - Thursday and 9 am - 4.30 pm on a Friday, with half an hour taken for lunch each day.
