A Secondary geography/history/business enterprise teacher is required to work in the Secondary Department of this outstanding all-age school for pupils with visual impairment. This will initially be a fixed term contract to 31st August

2020 but there may be potential to move to a permanent position in the future.

The Role:

We are looking for an outstanding, qualified and experienced teacher to deliver Geography and History National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and a range of Key Stage 4 and 5 courses, including BTEC, GCSE and Entry Level History, Geography and Business Enterprise. The post holder will also organise work experience for Year 10 and be part of a Careers Team.

• You will work in a well-equipped, purpose built school with small groups of wonderful children.

• We want a ‘team player’ to join our supportive and friendly team of experienced staff.

• Our students’ learning is very hands on and tactile, and you will need to bring enthusiasm and dynamic creativity to your teaching.

• We want you to develop exciting ways to adapt the curriculum for pupils with vision needs.

• You will have an understanding of young people with additional social, emotional or mental health needs and experience of working with them.

• The ability to contribute to other areas of the curriculum will be needed.

Whilst we do not expect you to have experience of working with children with vision needs on entry to the school, we will expect you to work hard, with our comprehensive support, to develop your skills and expertise to meet their needs.

Recent experience of working with children with SEN in either mainstream or special school setting is essential.
