Worcestershire Children First is responsible for the delivery of services to children and young people across Worcestershire. We are a not for profit company and 100% owned by Worcestershire County Council.

In June 2019 Ofsted recognised that “Effective work by senior management and staff, together with commitment and investment by political leaders, (had) led to improved responses to the needs of children and families,” and that “As a result, outcomes for many children and their families are better, and there is evidence of a sustained trajectory of improvement,”

Worcestershire Children’s First will continue to work hard to ensure that there is consistent and improved practice in Public Law Outline (PLO) and Court cases. Worcestershire is maintaining good performance within the region resulting in effective safeguarding and children achieving permanency more quickly.  As part of this commitment we appointing a second Case Progression Officer post to embed consistent and positive practice in respect of children who are subject to PLO and care proceedings. 

Case Progression Officer – Legal

 

We are looking for an experienced forward thinking and highly motivated candidate.

The preferred candidate will have extensive knowledge and application of the Public Law Outline and the conduct of Court Cases.

As a Court Progression Officer, you will have developed specialist knowledge of social work practice.

You will have extensive experience in completing assessments and making recommendations on how those needs can be met. You will have a significant knowledge of legislation and regulation guidance relevant to your role and experience of working in frontline children’s services.

The preferred candidate will have strong written and verbal skills, and experience of mentoring/supporting less experienced social workers.

You will be an HCPC-registered Social Worker with an understanding of social work practice encountered throughout the child’s journey. 

We are looking for forward thinking and highly motivated candidates who can provide support to Social Workers across our Family Front Door, Locality Safeguarding Services, and Children with Disabilities, and you will achieve this through your leadership, drive, and commitment to the highest performance and practice standards.

What can Worcestershire offer you?

A basic salary of up to £41,675 per annum 

Plus:

  • An allowance of up to £10,000 to eligible to recruits who need to move home as a result of accepting an appointment.  You can receive help towards removal expenses, legal fees, estate agent fees, disturbance expenses and additional accommodation costs
