  • This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract for external applicants or as a secondment for internal candidates until 31 March 2020 (with the possibility of an extension).

Walsall Council Adult Social Care commissioning is a progressive service and following significant investment we have an exciting opportunity to join us.  We encourage our data analysts to support our commissioning officers in leading, supporting and challenging our internal workforce and external market to ensure good quality, outcome based services that meet the needs of Walsall residents. We have big plans and major projects underway including development of an Integrated Quality in Care Team.

The Quality in Care Team’s priority is to improve the quality of commissioned services for all who use those services and to prevent avoidable harm. This includes ensuring that as far as reasonably possible the services commissioned by Walsall Council are safe, effective and provide a positive experience for service users. The service user’s experience of care is sought, heard and used to improve our services.

Our approach is to work in partnership with service users, their families, carers and service providers to ensure that evidence-based, safe, high quality services are delivered. We are looking for data analysts who are aspirational for Walsall residents. In this new world we expect our data analysts to promote and support  effective performance management and evidenced based decision making by working closely with the Commissioners and Quality in Care Team in identifying, defining and meeting the changing management information, performance monitoring and data needs of the organisation. 

This post requires candidates who can produce high quality data, analysis and management information for quality assurance purposes with the skill to identify, analyse and address data quality issues. 

We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate this experience or uniqueness which will complement our existing workforce and meet the duties required within the job description. 

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.
