After-School Play Worker

A superb opportunity has arisen for a Play Worker/Before & After School Club [BASC] Assistant at Chancel Primary School. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can bring their unique skills to our well-resourced Club. You will be responsible for caring for large numbers of children: organising activities, playing games, preparing food and providing the nurture and care needed by children aged from 2 to 11. This role will rely on your ability to work in close partnership with parents and colleagues – ensuring both safeguarding and health and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times.

The position is for 12 to 14 hours – with the majority of hours working in After School Care, although there may be some Breakfast Club hours available.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting the Before and After School Team in providing high quality childcare.
  • Supporting the delivery of exciting activities to promote children’s social skills and emotional wellbeing.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure and caring environment.
  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of children at all times.
  • Demonstrating excellent organisational skills.
  • Working in partnership with parents.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Ideally be qualified as a Level 2 Play Worker.
  • Demonstrate a passion for providing high quality care, for children of all ages.
  • Someone with the energy and imagination to make every day fun for children.
  • A satisfactory DBS check.
  • Good references.

Closing date for applications, Tuesday 22nd October at 4.00pm. Please contact the school for further details, or an informal discussion, on 01889 228710. Visits to the school are welcomed.

Email completed application forms to office2@chancel.staffs.sch.uk by no later than 4.00pm, Tuesday 22nd October.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service, which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions on your application.
