Job Details
Based at the Town Hall and Customer Services Centre in Burton upon Trent.
The Revenues, Benefits and Customer Contacts service incorporates:
- the billing and collection of Council Tax, Non-Domestic (Business) Rates and Sundry Debts;
- the assessment and award of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims;
- the prevention and detection of fraudulent Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims;
- the front line service delivery to customers via the Council's switchboard, and face to face at the Council's Customer Service Centres in Burton upon Trent and Uttoxeter.
This is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity in Revenues and Benefits. Alongside studying for the IRRV level 4 Revenues and Benefits Practitioner qualification, you will gain valuable experience working within a friendly team. Activities include processing claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction, processing revenues accounts, and providing front line customer service delivery.
The successful applicant should possess 5 GCSE passes (grade C/4 and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English Language.
You should have experience of working in a customer service environment; be IT literate, including Microsoft Office; have a willingness to gain knowledge of Revenues and Benefits, and work confidently and accurately with numerical data.
If you are a team player, willing to learn, and wanting to become part of the Council's front-line service, we want to hear from you.
The apprenticeship is for 18 months, and there is the opportunity for further career progression on completion. You will spend at least 20% of your time learning.
