Admissions Caseworker (Temporary) - Ref CH24119
Salary: G5 £20,143 to £23,600 per annum
The Admissions and Appeals Team has a vacancy for a temporary Admissions Caseworker (approximately lasting between 8 to 11 months) to cover a period of maternity leave for the permanent post holder.
The post holders, work will focus primarily on locating off roll pupils which is an important safe guarding function. Work will also include all aspects of the primary, secondary and midyear admissions process.
The post holder will also be involved in providing advice and support to parents and colleagues in Walsall schools on all aspect of the school admissions and appeals process, and will liaise with colleagues in other local authorities and other professionals as part of the pupil tracking process.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this post, which is covered by the government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.
Candidates should also have excellent ICT skills, GCSE Grade C or above in English Language and Maths or equivalent, and experience of working in an office environment.
The post holder will be based at the Civic Centre, but will occasionally be required to travel to attend meetings off site.
