Job Details

37 Hours per week – Permanent

Staffordshire County Council continues to undertake significant investment in its Children's Social Care Services (Families First) which have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in consecutive inspections.

Staffordshire’s Families First is one of the largest Children's Services in England and as a consequence there are excellent career opportunities for highly motivated and experienced practitioners and leaders to join a ‘Good’ Children’s Service.

In Staffordshire we are committed to working with partners and families to enable vulnerable children and young people to be safe and secure, to promote physical and emotional well-being and to help them achieve their full potential within their communities.

In order to do this, staff are provided with high quality regular supervision, a second to none training offer which equips staff to have the tools to do their job both confidently and competently alongside excellent line management support.

We are looking to recruit a Specialist Safeguarding Team Manager based in the Leek area office. You will lead, manage and supervise a team of social workers and family support workers. You will work closely with the Team Co-ordinator in the co-located Early HelpTeam to provide in-reach support and to ensure the timely escalation/de-escalation of cases. For this post you will need a Social Work Qualification and substantial post qualification experience in children’s services. In addition, you will be required to have previous management experience and to have undertaken relevant management training.

You will find Staffordshire’s Families First has a wealth of experience and knowledge within the workforce, and that we are constantly developing and striving for improvement. This means that Staffordshire’s Families First can provide a consistent and good standard of line management support for all levels. We have recently embarked on training all our practitioners in Restorative Practice and are very enthusiastic about this new development.

We are looking for a highly motivated, committed and inspirational leader who wants to commit to Staffordshire’s Families First on its journey through to outstanding services for children and their families.
