2 x Qualified Social Workers – Assessment Teams, Children’s Services

Grade Band 11 SCP 29-33, £32,029 - £35,934 per annum and a generous retention package of up to £10,000, 37 hours per week, Permanent.

ASYE Grade 9 SCP 24 £27,905 per annum (you will receive an additional increment after successful 6 months)

We are looking to recruit ideally an experienced Social Worker, however we will consider a newly qualified worker, to join the Assessment Children’s Team. As an Assessment Team Social Worker you will manage a diverse caseload working with a range of professionals and families across Shropshire. You will gain excellent and varied opportunities for developing your knowledge and skill set and will be supported to develop key areas of specialist interest where appropriate, strengthened by regular, high quality supervision and training opportunities. Your main roles will include undertaking s.17 assessments, s.47 investigations, presenting to ICPCC, accommodating children, accessing edge of care supports, implementing plans of intervention/support, and initiating care proceedings. We are a short term team, providing high quality, timely intervention and support, before then transferring the family to one of our longer term teams as appropriate, or stepping down into early help. As such you will develop strong relationships across all Children’s Social Work teams as well as early help and will be able to progress cases in a timely manner, ensuring positive outcomes for children are reached.

    You will be a HCPC registered social worker with experience in completing assessments, creating plans and carrying out interventions, which create good outcomes for families. You will have a solid knowledge of legislation and regulation guidance relevant to your role and experience of working in frontline children’s services.
