We are looking to recruit a Caretaker / Maintenance Technician for Burton PRU to start as soon as possible. The position is 10 hours per week e.g. 2 hours per day 4.00pm – 6.00pm approximately, however, flexibility will be needed on hours to complete vital key tasks per day / week - 52 weeks per year: flexibility of hours would enable the successful candidate to work longer one week than another in school holidays etc. all by agreement.  £9.94 per hour.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• The effective provision of caretaking, portering.
• Cleaning and site maintenance routines of any of the three sites, (mainly based at Winshill)
• Responding to emergencies relating to the site as required.
• Working under the direction of the Premises Manager, deliver caretaking services to all buildings forming the school site, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
• Responsibility for undertaking minor or temporary maintenance repairs.
• Routine and non-routine opening and closing and security of premises and grounds
• Maintain appropriate testing, monitoring and recording of electrical / water etc. tests on a weekly / monthly basis.

• Good interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to relate to young people
• Knowledge of ICT systems. (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience of working within a school setting
