Corporate Landlord Services are looking to appoint a Casual Bar/Event Steward at Dudley Town Hall and other various locations.

Hours of Work

    Hours and times of work will vary in accordance with the needs of the service. You will be required to work overtime, evenings and weekends.

Salary: Grade 2, £9.00ph

The post holder will manage the unit within the allocated budget and ensure that all Catering, Cleaning and Caretaking Services policies and procedures are adhered to within the legal restraints, and overall to meet customer satisfaction.

Main Job Activities

  • To work as part of the bar team serving drinks in a fast, professional and courteous manner in one of the boroughs licenced hall bars.
  • To provide customer service as an event steward to a range of hires/shows/events;
  • To be able to assist in the evacuation of the venue, and provide first response for security responding to any problems with audience needs and behaviour.
  • Hours of work will include weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and evenings according to the needs of the service. You will be required to work in Dudley Town Hall.

 

Key requirements;

 As a member of the bar team;

  • Service of drinks to members of the public.
  • Cash handling.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the bar and public areas during opening and closing hours.
  • Maintain stock levels and rotation behind the bars and storage areas.
  • Ensure all licencing laws are adhered to at all times.
  • Monitor and act upon members of the public’s behaviour.
  • Act as an information point for customers.
  • Dispose of rubbish in line with any onsite recycling initiatives.

As an event steward 

  • Check tickets at entrances to building.
  • Direct customers to appropriate seats in auditorium.
  • Be prepared to attend training in emergency evacuation procedure and fire regulations and assist in evacuation.
  • Be responsible for the regulation of access between various parts of the venue when necessary.
  • Ensure that the non-smoking policy is upheld.
  • To be on duty from a given time until after the public have left the building, as deemed necessary according to needs of the service.
  • Occasional operation of a cloakroom
