Job Details

We are looking for people with the drive and ambition to make Sandwell's Vision 2030 a reality.

Democratic Services is a fast-paced area of work and you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective execution of decisions taken by or on behalf of the council.

You will be required to attend meetings to attain decisions, appropriately advise and/or train on policy and procedures across the full spectrum of council meetings, executive, scrutiny, constitutional, other decision making bodies and working groups.

You will play a critical role working on high-profile service specific projects, directly supporting the successful delivery of the Law and Governance Business Plan. You will be expected to make a real impact through your personal contribution, both within the council and to the residents of Sandwell.

It is essential you have experience of interacting with elected members and officers at all levels of the council alongside considerable committee administration experience.

You must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or equivalent.

We are looking for a team player willing to provide a comprehensive support service, dealing with high volumes of work and used to working under pressure to tight deadlines. Due to the nature of this role you must be prepared to work outside of regular office hours.

This is a full-time role however, we will consider candidates interested in job share or part time hours.
