FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

CARE PLANNING & COURT TEAM

Permanent Family Support Worker vacancy based at Castle House.

Grade 5 -  £19,171 – £20,344

We have now developed a vibrant and highly motivated Care Planning and Court Service. The Service engages with children between the ages of 0-17 in Court proceedings (and 0-12 Looked After children) and creates inspirational plans which enables opportunities and empowers our children to achieve in all areas. 

As a Family Support Worker you will be responsible for undertaking direct work with children including life story work, providing contact between children and their birth families, and supporting vulnerable young people and children in their current circumstances. You will also be expected to support Social Workers in crisis situations and may need to attend Court in relation to your involvement in relevant cases.

As such you will bring effective communication and listening skills, ability to problem solve, think logically, and remain calm in a crisis.

Hours of Work:

Your post is subject to weekend / evening work on a rota basis.

The normal standard working arrangements will be based on a 37 hour week, working over 5 days between the hours of 8-00 and 18-00.
