Vacancies

There is a permanent Senior Practitioner vacancy on the Stafford Care Planning and Court Team and two temporary vacancies for a fixed term period of 6 mths, one on the Stafford Team based at Borough Council and one on the Newcastle Team based at Brackenberry.

Applicants internally who wish to apply for a secondment require managers consent prior to application.

Grade 10 - £36,876- £40,760

The Care Planning & Court Team is responsible for Care Proceedings from granting of the Interim Care Order to granting of final orders and for Looked After Children aged 0 – 17 years of age. 

You will be responsible for assessments, Court statements and presenting evidence to the Court.  You will have responsibility for planning for children in the care of the Local Authority between the ages of 0-12 which can be for return home, placement with friends or family, adoption or long term fostering, and undertaking the care planning and Court work required to ensure timely permanency planning is achieved for children.  Cases allocated to you will be at a more complex level than those of less experienced workers.

You will be expected to co-work cases with less experienced / non social work qualified members of the team and to take responsibility as part of that process for sharing and developing their learning. 

This role involves taking a lead role within the Team for researching and developing evidence based practice, group supervision and sharing this with other staff.  You will offer advice, consultation and support to team members on aspects of case management.  You will represent the Team at meetings/forums as deemed appropriate by the Team Manager / Team Coordinator.  You may be required to take part in the delivery of training to staff across the Directorate with line management agreement.

The ability to engage and communicate with children is essential and to support children in care to reach their full potential.   You will need to work closely with colleagues in Safeguarding, Fostering, Adoption and Friends and Family Teams.
