FullTime - 37 hours per week
£3.90 per hour - £144.30 per week

There is no age limit for this position.

The position would be suitable for a person wishing to retrain having previous work experience, or someone aged 16 plus, perhaps looking for their first job after leaving school or college.

This is an exciting opportunity in an outstanding provision that is run by Telford and Wrekin.
We are looking for new staff that engage; feel they can connect and make a difference for young children and their families.

You will combine work with training, working towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications while gaining valuable skills and practical experience within this outstanding setting.

You must not be taking part in full time education, not possess a degree, as we are not eligible to receive funding for those that have a degree.

 

THE QUALIFICATION
You will study for a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) 2 in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.

The NVQ content will be tailored to suit the tasks you will be doing in your day to day work and you will receive support and guidance in building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence in the workplace

 

You will support the Pupil Support Assistant Team. 

  •  Support the planning and implementation of activities with individual or groups of children; promoting effective teaching and learning.
  •  Be part of our School Team that provides a purposeful, stimulating environment rich in learning opportunities, both   indoors and outdoors.
  •  Promote the inclusion of all children.
  •  Establish positive and sensitive relationships with children, act as a role model and set achievable expectations.
  •  Be responsible for organising the environment inside and outside to ensure that resources and equipment are available   and  appropriate to meet the needs of the individual children in the group. These activities will take into account   children’s  abilities interests, language and cultural backgrounds.
  •  Meet the physical needs of children, encouraging good standards of personal hygiene, whilst promoting independence.
  • Provide support for the children’s emotional and social needs by implementing the principles of the nursery Promoting Positive Behaviour Policy and role modelling high standards in all aspects of their role and personal conduct.
  • Encourage children to interact and work co-operatively with others.
  • Be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of the Key 1 & Key Stage 2 Stage in order to meet all learning interests and needs of children, extending them where necessary.
  • Support the team to monitor and evaluate children's learning through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies.
  • Develop positive and sensitive relationships with parents and carers to support their role in children's learning. To provide constructive feedback on children’s progress/achievement, on a day-to-day basis or through parent meetings.
  • Be proactive in the continuation of your own learning to improve the outcomes for children and their families.
  • Have a clear knowledge of and adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Comply and assist with the development of policies and procedures.
  • Attend meetings as required and participate in training opportunities and performance development.
  • Be accountable for the delivery of the above responsibilities and tasks.
  • Undertake any duties set to you.
