Be part of a dynamic Procurement team across an Educational Trust. Summit Learning Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive person to co-ordinate and manage procurement across the Trust’s eight academies. Tasks will include line management of the three procurement officers, ongoing development of the procurement strategy for each category / service, promotion of single sourcing where possible, advice on contracts, commercial issues and EU procurement directives, preparation of tenders and contracts, implementation of service level agreements and building relationships across the Trust. You will need to have excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and flexibility, as you will need to work pro-actively across all our campuses, but will be based initially at Solihull Sixth Form College. Procurement experience is essential and you will ideally have (or be working towards) full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS). Experience in the public sector and EU Procurement Directives would be an advantage but is not essential. You will report to the Strategic Business Director. Summit Learning Trust is a group of seven schools and one College in Birmingham and Solihull. Staff work within a friendly, supportive working atmosphere and many staff are long serving. The College offers free parking, an on-site restaurant and free use of gym and sports facilities during the College day to promote a good work-life balance. From the College’s campus, it is a short attractive walk through parkland to Solihull Town Centre. Hours/days for part-time posts are flexible and would be negotiated on appointment. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role
