Inspiring Social Work Excellence in Worcestershire

Do you want to make a real, positive difference to the children and young people of Worcestershire?

If yes, we want to hear from you.

Children's Social Workers for our Integrated Service for Looked After Children

Welcome to Worcestershire Children First!

My name is Tina Russell and I am the Director for Children's Social Care and Safeguarding Services. I'm supported by my Assistant Directors; Maria White, Emma Brittain and Adam Johnston and we are looking to recruit dedicated and creative social workers to fill our remaining Social Worker positions.

If you are a passionate and innovative social worker looking to make a difference, develop your career and improve the lives of children and young people, then Worcestershire Children First should be your next destination!

The Team

We have a vacancy in the Through Care Service working within the Integrated Service for Looked After Children (ISL), Health and Wellbeing Team. This role will involve undertaking direct work with Looked After children and their carers using a variety of therapeutic approaches to support their emotional health and wellbeing. This may include facilitating group work activities and offering support to the network around the child.

We are looking for people who will keep a relentless focus on positive outcomes for our children and young people. You will be working as part of a small team supported by dedicated administrative support.  To enhance your performance and development we have a strong team of permanent dedicated managers and senior managers.

The Service

We have been working hard on our service improvement plan and we are pleased to have achieved a “Requires Improvement to be Good” gradings across the service in July 19 with Ofsted reporting,

Senior managers have taken the essential steps to meet the goals of their social care improvement plan. Combined with the restructure of services, they have ensured that changes to core practice are embedded, and that invested resources focus on delivering better outcomes for children.”

Staff are positive about changes that have been implemented, including that a strengths-based model of social work intervention is in place and embedded.”

Senior leaders are ambitious and the trajectory for further improvement is established”

It’s a great time to join our service and help us make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people we work with.

Our offer to you:

Salary up to £35,799* + £2,000 welcome payment

*Salary includes annual retention payment.  Welcome and annual retention payments, and relocation package are subject to eligibility criteria.
