  1. To provide help to individual and groups of students during practical lessons as required.
  2. To maintain a safe and hygienic working environment in classrooms and to keep work areas and equipment clean and tidy.
  3. Be responsible for organising the maintenance and repair for any equipment as directed by the subject leader or Head of Faculty.
  4. To ensure that tools, equipment and materials are prepared, cleared and maintained for practical lessons and examinations, including setting up equipment as required.
  5. To monitor stock levels within the department to ensure adequate supplies of standard materials required for use in lessons and coursework; carry out regular stock taking and inventory checks as directed by the subject leader or Head of Faculty and liaise with the subject leader and Head of Faculty when further supplies of materials are required; prepare order requisitions for authorisation; check goods delivered against orders and pack away and store goods appropriately.
  6. To set up and pack away specialist equipment as required To photograph student work as required; and upload relevant imagery to the ICT system as directed by the Subject Leader or Class Teacher.
  7. To organise the cleaning of equipment.  Ensuring that all equipment is left tidy and store cupboards are secured where necessary.
  8. To support with regular health and safety checks and annual review of Health and Safety paperwork.
  9. To assist with department filing, including maintenance of up to date catalogues and price lists.
  10. To have a flexible approach to departmental needs and be willing to develop new skills when required in a forward thinking department that continues to develop with the introduction of new processes; techniques and technologies.
  11. To assist teaching staff with the production of class resources.
  12. To undertake any other duties within the department required under direction of the Subject Leader.
  13. Help identify personal training needs required to help implement school priorities and enhance own job performance.
  14. Any other appropriate and reasonable duties that may be required at the request of the Headteacher.
  15. To follow the school’s procedures for health & safety.
