Working Week: 8.30am – 12.30 and 1 – 4pm 5 days a week

Family Support Worker and Pastoral Lead Post
The Head Teacher and Governors of Matchborough First School Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, empathetic and resilient Family Support Worker/Pastoral Lead to join our inclusive team on a permanent basis.

The role of the Family Support Worker/Pastoral Lead is to assist in tackling underachievement by working in partnership with families, parents, carers and children in our school context. The focus of the role is to engage with children and their families within the school context to support positive choices and healthy relationships by developing groups and 1:1 support opportunities. You will work with families and children in a non-judgemental way empowering them to access support services and educational opportunities, overcoming barriers to learning and participation, and impacting positively on outcomes for children. One aspect of the role is monitoring attendance.

The person appointed to this role will be one of the designated safeguarding leads within school

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record of and commitment to:


   *be an effective team player
   *forging strong relationships with children, parents, agencies and the wider school community

   *planning workshops and interventions for both children and parents
   *play an active role in continued professional development
   *promoting our school ethos by being an outstanding role model           and leading by example

   *signposting parents to specific reports
