DO YOU WANT TO INSPIRE PEOPLE ABOUT GREEN SPACES?

The Green Spaces team requires individuals to join our Community Engagement team, delivering engagement activities across the community.

If you want to earn a little extra on a flexible basis, and are available to work during the daytime, evenings and weekends, this could be the position for you.

Green Spaces is a vibrant and growing team dedicated to providing excellent parks and open spaces in Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth.

You will help people explore our green spaces and understand the benefits of green spaces for health and wellbeing, and inspire them about the biodiversity and heritage of our green spaces.

At present, we have a particular focus on the Heritage Lottery funded Pump Room Gardens project.

We are looking for confident, friendly people who are able to hit the ground running to deliver outreach and on-site activities and steward at events.

Team work, experience of working with a wide cross section of society including people of all ages and ‘hard to reach’ groups, and experience of facilitating workshops, guided tours or lessons is essential.

To arrange an informal chat please email Lucy Stockley, Community Engagement Officer at lucy.stockley@warwickdc.gov.uk

Please see the job description and person specification below for further information.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (formerly known as the CRB).

Driving licence desirable but not essential.

Company

Warwick DC Banner

Warwick District, is at the heart of Shakespeare’s England and comprises the towns of Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth and Whitnash.  The district boasts historic castles and buildings with regency architecture, vibrant town centres hosting a lively calendar of events, as well as beautiful parks and gardens.   We enjoy links to the M40, M42, M1 and M6, national rail connection and Birmingham International airport. It is one of the most prosperous regions in the country with low unemployment rates.

Here at Warwick District Council, our vision is to make Warwick District a great place to live, work and visit and we recognise that our employees are the key to achieving that. Working arrangements in most jobs are flexible; flexi-time, full or part time and job sharing is usually available.  You can expect generous holiday entitlements, a pension scheme and plenty of opportunities for training and personal development.

We believe in recruiting the best person for the job, using fair and open selection, based on knowledge and experience, skills and behaviour.  We welcome applications from a diverse range of  candidates.
