Site Supervisor-Hayes Meadow Primary

Hayes Meadow Primary is a ‘good’ school (OFSTED2018) and is committed to helping pupils to achieve the ‘best that they can be’. 

We have a vacancy for a dedicated, enthusiastic and hard- working site supervisor who would work across our one form entry primary school and nursery. 

We are looking for someone who would enjoy becoming part of our team and is committed to joining us on our journey.   

The post is for 20 hours across the week and you will be required to open the school in the morning and ensure the site is secure in the evening including after lettings.  This is a whole year post and you will be required to complete maintenance work during the school holidays.  More hours may be required to complete larger maintenance projects.

A brief outline of the role will involve the following duties:  

• Opening and closing the school
• Keeping outside and inside areas well maintained including drains and gutters
• Taking deliveries
• Liaising with contractors
• Maintenance and repair jobs and general caretaking duties. 
• Health and Safety responsibilities include fire alarm testing and identifiying any hazards or maintenance requirements and making them safe, water system safety, identifying and risk assessing COSHH, etc.  A full Job Description is attached.

You must be a pleasant and willing individual who will have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to work both in a team and under your own initiative. The person appointed will be able to communicate at all levels with pupils, staff, parents and local community and be required to commit to the same Code of Conduct as all our school employees. You should have good interpersonal skills, effectively organising yourself and be able to lead by example, understanding the need to maintain confidentiality. You should be calm and patient when under pressure.

You should be competent at basic building repairs and grounds maintenance and will be using small industrial/electrical/mechanical equipment. You should also be able to regularly handle/carry heavy items (within Health & Safety manual lifting and handling regulations). Willingness to undergo appropriate training is essential and will be provided for the successful candidate.
