The Careers and Enterprise Company is an Employer led organisation that has been set up to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work. Its role is to act as a catalyst in the fragmented landscape Careers and Enterprise, supporting programmes that work, filling gaps in provision and ensuring coverage across the country.

Telford and Wrekin in conjunction with the Careers and Enterprise Company and the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership are looking to recruit an Enterprise Coordinator to maintain and develop our network of Enterprise Advisors – business volunteers who have signed up to help our schools and colleges increase their engagement with businesses for young people.

We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated person with knowledge of the world of careers and enterprise to help us continue to bring business and education together and support our local network to meet the Gatsby benchmarks and have young people ready for the world of work.

This post is part funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company and Telford and Wrekin Council and will be an initial 18 month fixed term position.

The post holder will be educated at Degree level or have equivalent experience in an appropriate discipline, for example Information Advice and Guidance. 

The successful post holder will  demonstrable understanding of school culture and the challenges faced by schools in delivering careers and enterprise and the current careers education and the corporate social responsibility landscape. 

Have a good understanding of the challenges facing businesses and their skills requirements

Demonstrate substantial knowledge of the opportunities available for young people to access employment support and gain employment.

Show an understanding of relevant local and national policy relating to skills and economic development and the issues and barriers to employment faced by young people.
