Who we are
Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), the transport arm of the West Midlands Combined Authority is a rapidly growing and fast emerging as a standard setter in the industry. We are a Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies employer and in October 2017, we became only the second ever to win the ‘City Region Authority of the Year’ twice in a row at the National Transport Awards. We need new talent to join our already excellent team that is making a real difference to people within the West Midlands.
About the team
The West Midlands Metro is going through a period of major expansion which will see the network triple in size between 2018 and 2026. The first phase of this expansion is currently underway and will see the opening of four new extensions by 2023. Phase 2 of the programme will see further routes being delivered by 2026 and in addition to these major projects there are many other operational projects being run concurrently by the wider West Midlands Metro team.
This role will be varied, dynamic and fast paced at times so we are looking for an experienced, self-motivated person to join the team to help provide a professional, high standard business support function. As a self-starter who can use their initiative you will lead on tasks and projects from the outset.
Who we need
The main elements of this role are to act as the document controller for the team creating a new document management system, providing day to day support to the Metro Leadership Team to include diary and inbox management as well as arranging, facilitating and supporting meetings. If you have a minimum of three years office experience and proven track record and demonstrable experience in the above mentioned areas, we look forward to receiving your application.
The West Midlands Metro team works across two bases, Summer Lane in Birmingham city centre and the Metro Depot in Wednesbury, as well as in close partnership with our partners at Midland Metro Alliance in the city centre. Although this role is based at Summer Lane in Birmingham, you may be required to work at any of these bases at any given time.
In return for your hard work and commitment, we will reward you with a range of competitive and attractive benefits
How to apply
Please provide detailed information in your application outlining your suitability for the post and ensure it is submitted by the closing date.
A CV may be uploaded for extra information, but please note that personal details should be omitted and a CV alone will not be accepted.
Closing Date: 13 November 2019
Interview/Assessment Date: w/c 09 December 2019
