"Working together to keep children safe"

SCSP is a partnership of all the different organisations working to protect children and young people across the county.

We bring together information for children, young people and their families and the professionals who work with them.

Safeguarding children and young people is everyone’s responsibility.

The SCSP ensures that all organisations that work with children work together to keep children and young people safe from harm.

Safeguarding is about keeping children and young people safe from abuse or neglect.

All those who come into contact with children and families in their everyday work, have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

The SCSP undertakes this role through providing training, the development of policies and procedures and awareness raising.

The post has been established to work with the Sandwell Children’s Safeguarding Partnership to support the implementation of the new statutory multi-agency requirements for child protection and safeguarding children as a result of a change to legislation and the implementation of the Children and Social Work Act 2017.

The main purpose of the job will be to provide professional support to the SCSP and its sub-groups.

You will have sound knowledge of safeguarding issues including policies and procedures and knowledge of the nature and effects of abuse and neglect.

You will also have a broad knowledge base and understanding of national developments in legislation/research relating to safeguarding practice and have the ability to apply this to local development initiatives across the various work programmes of SCSP.

You will have experience of working in a complex multi professional organisation environment and strategic partnership level with other statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations.

You will have experience of developing monitoring systems and providing evaluation and interpretation.

You will have experience of co-ordinating multi agency audit processes, procuring independent providers and developing progressing pathways.

Please contact Nicola Green on 0121-569-6016 for further information about this role.
