Trust Finance Officer
Grade 5 (Full time, all year round salary band £21,589pa to £26,999pa)
Term time only plus teacher training days plus 2 or 3 weeks during the holidays. Full time, term time only pro rata band is between £19,607 pa up to £24,521 pa.
We have committed to ensure that all of our Schools have access to a high quality, consistent Finance service. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional, highly organised and customer-focused Finance Officer to provide comprehensive support as part of our Central Services team. You will provide a full and responsive financial service to the schools within our Trust. This will include undertaking essential financial duties.
With the support of the Trust Senior Finance Officer and Administrator, you will play a key Finance role to the portfolio of schools in our Trust, providing cohesive, efficient and effective finance support, advice and guidance across the full range of finance activities. The position has been created to build capacity in the Finance team as our MAT has grown, currently employing 700 staff. Travel will be required so the successful candidate would need to provide their own transport for business use.
This is a wonderful opportunity to gain some really valuable experience in a forward thinking Trust and to put your strong IT skills to the test! The role will involve working closely with finance staff across the Trust, as well other members of the support staff team, in a very professional and friendly environment.
As part of the finance team you would need to meet weekly, monthly and annual deadlines and support budget holders by providing advice and information on our suppliers and the complete order process. The school currently uses the PS Financials system to record all financial transactions, so experience in this system would be a distinct advantage.
You will need to be confident in the use of IT applications and the ability to create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets is essential. Flexibility will be key as will a meticulous, organised, analytical approach, together with the ability to provide excellent customer service, to work accurately with attention to detail, to prioritise and make sound decisions.
Previous experience of working in an academic environment would be an advantage but this post could be equally suited to an experienced finance officer who has worked in a different sector.
