Welcome to Worcestershire Children’s First!

My name is Tina Russell and I am the Director for Children's Social Care and Safeguarding Services. I'm supported by my Assistant Directors; Maria White, Emma Brittain and Adam Johnston and we are looking to recruit dedicated and creative social workers to fill our remaining Social Worker positions.

We currently have vacancies in our Fostering & Kinship teams.

Are you a qualified and registered Social Worker who has a good knowledge of SGO and fostering regulations?

Can you demonstrate how the Kinship and fostering services contributes towards to the overall support and care planning needs of children who can’t remain in their birth parent’s care?

Do you have proven experience of completing assessments and reports to a high standard?  

Our Kinship Teams are responsible for the assessment, supervision and support of kinship foster carers which would also include the delivering of foster carer pre and post approval training and undertaking viability and special guardianship assessments for court submission.

We are looking for people who will keep a relentless focus on positive outcomes for our children and young people. You will be working as part of a small team supported by dedicated administrative support.  To enhance your performance and development we have a strong team of permanent dedicated managers and senior managers.

The Service

We have been working hard on our service improvement plan and we are pleased to have achieved a “Requires Improvement to be Good” gradings across the service in July 19 with Ofsted reporting,

Senior managers have taken the essential steps to meet the goals of their social care improvement plan. Combined with the restructure of services, they have ensured that changes to core practice are embedded, and that invested resources focus on delivering better outcomes for children.”

Staff are positive about changes that have been implemented, including that a strengths-based model of social work intervention is in place and embedded.”

Our offer to you:

Salary up to £35,799 + £2,000 welcome payment* (pro rata for part time)

*Salary includes annual retention payment.  Welcome and annual retention payments, and relocation package are subject to eligibility criteria.

Relocation package worth up to £10,000 (subject to eligibility criteria)
