Youth Health Champion Project Apprentice
(Working towards the Associate Project Manager Level 4 qualification)
Scale 3 (£18,795 - £19,171)
Full time - 37 hours a week
To support the development and co-ordination of a volunteer Youth Health Champion scheme. The aim of the Youth Health Champion scheme is to recruit young people as volunteers to promote key positive health messages to their peers, this will involve working closely with schools, youth clubs and other establishments attended by young people.
The Youth Health Champion Co-ordinator will support with the recruitment, training and co-ordination of a group of young volunteers helping them to deliver projects that contribute to the Council’s and their own health and wellbeing priorities. The post holder will support with the promotion of the scheme through the effective use of a range of social media platforms. The post holder will work closely with the Volunteer Co-ordinator Health and Wellbeing and colleagues in the Health Improvement Team in Public Health.

To have excellent customer service skills and be committed to delivering efficient and effective services
Good interpersonal skills, written and communication skills with the ability to talk to people face to face, on the telephone and in writing
Ability to write short action plans and reports
Ability to support a network of young volunteers
Ability to implement effective project management processes
Good organisational skills and an ability to manage own work load
