Job Details
An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for Service Manager in our waste management and fleet services.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Housing and Communities and as a key member of the departmental senior management team you will provide both strategic and operational direction and leadership for the delivery of the council’s waste and fleet services.
You must have a successful track record of delivering and developing commercial services and extensive knowledge of both waste/recycling service and a fleet services. You will be suitably qualified at level 4 COTC and a CPC in road haulage is desirable.
In addition, you will be responsible for project management including efficiency targets and budget management to deliver surplus revenue and best value.
We are looking for someone with commitment to working corporately, with other services and in partnership with other agencies and local people to deliver the Council’s priorities.
This is an important role which offers the successful candidate the opportunity to help develop the councils waste management and fleet services so that the best possible services are provided to our customers and the borough’s strategy is delivered.
It goes without saying that you’ll contribute to embedding a council-wide culture of continuous improvement and customer-focus, so that we are best-equipped to meet increasing customer and stakeholder expectations and deliver improved value for money in austere times.
