St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy is a very popular, oversubscribed and thriving school serving the Catholic community of the North of Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire.

We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher of Science to join our existing excellent team of dedicated professionals following a colleague securing career progression.

The Science department is a forward-thinking subject area and provides invaluable opportunities for learning to all our students through its rigorous and newly designed curriculum as well as a wide range of extra-curricular activities including educational visits and STEM experiences. The Head of Department is an SLE for Science, there are currently two Heads of Year who have been recently appointed from the Science department, one member of the team leads the school’s Duke of Edinburgh scheme and another has an integral role in the school’s commitment to the emotional wellbeing of all students.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach all three science subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4. Specialisms in physics and/or chemistry are desirable but certainly not essential.

Applications from NQTs (for whom excellent support is available) are welcomed.

Potential candidates are welcome to visit the school by appointment.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  This post is subject to enhanced CRB disclosure

Application forms and further details can be obtained by contacting Miss E Phillips (Principal’s PA) on 01782 883000 ext. 035 or email ephillips@smwca.org.uk
