Warwick District Council is looking for outstanding individuals to join our Finance Department.

With a strong commitment to making improvements and efficiencies without making cuts to services, our forward looking and ambitious Council is recruiting 2 Principal Accountants who can embrace and support change. The Council is due to implement new financial systems over the next 2 years, in line with its digital strategy to ensure the demands of our customers are met both now and in the future.

Both roles will be responsible for all accounting aspects for the Service Area (Budget setting, monitoring and Final Accounts etc.). In addition, the individual roles will focus on individual specialisms, including:

Revenue Principal Account - Leading on the Authority’s Revenue Budget Setting, enhancing existing processes and ensuring a balanced budget is delivered within strict deadlines. Produce and continually enhance the Council’s Budget and Financial Information provided to both internal and external stakeholders.

System’s Principal Accountant - being System Manager responsible for the Council’s Main Accounting System, Income Management System, and Asset Register. Managing and directing the Council’s Budget Monitoring and Fees and Charges processes.

You would need to be able to demonstrate an ability to manage staff within your team, work accurately to deadlines, interpret legislation, and have strong ICT and report writing skills.

The position would suit either a CCAB qualified/part qualified Accountant or a Senior AAT Accountant with experience of working in Public Sector Finance. Candidates wishing to Job Share will be considered.
