About the role:
Policing is undergoing an unprecedented period of change. We recognise the need to be a policing service that is responsive to the needs of our communities, representative of who they are and our officers are appropriately skilled and qualified to respond to the challenges of policing in the 21st century.
We are looking for an Apprenticeship Manager to join us on the next leg of our transformation journey at West Midlands Police. You will be will be the main point of contact between us at West Midlands Police and our alliance partners in Staffordshire, West Mercia and Warwickshire Police who are also delivering the Police Constable education and training qualification.
Because of the unique nature of the new policing apprenticeship degree a key requirement of the role will be travel across the region to maintain our partnerships as well as our relationship with our students; you will therefore be an apprenticeship ambassador for the force so mobility is an essential requirement for the position.
We would expect the successful applicant to:
- Have experience in a relevant field e.g. Apprenticeships/Higher Apprenticeship awards and possess the ability to manage multiple work streams and stakeholder relationships supported by the ability to influence change.
- Experience of working in an HR/OD role and delivery of learning and development interventions to diverse learning audiences would be advantageous.
- Experience of working and managing work streams in a structured way that delivers key milestones
- Have a sound understanding of the ESFA funding rules and compliance requirements, and OFSTED regulatory and inspection framework.
- Experience of working to multiple deadlines delivering results through effective planning and organisation, working methodically, accurately and autonomously
- Experience of managing the Apprenticeship Service (Levy) programme to ensure best utilisation of funds for organisational needs including negotiating, authorising and overseeing the contractual delivery and compliance of apprenticeships delivered through engaged training providers.
- Have a sound understanding of diversity and inclusion, and socio economic issues as they impact on the learning and development experience of students.
