About us and the role

Warwickshire County Council is moving at pace to deliver an ambitious vision for transforming Care and Support for Adults, Children and Young People; and their families. Our People Strategy and Commissioning Service has been re-designed to deliver a challenging all age portfolio of projects across Public Health and Social Care; supporting models of integrated delivery focused on assets and strengths, improving outcomes and preventing escalation of need.

To complete our Service, we are recruiting to a number of roles within key portfolio areas.  We are looking for people who are committed to commissioning high quality services through innovative ideas and practice. We are therefore welcoming applications from candidates with experience in either the public or the private sector – with knowledge of the complexity of the current health and social care landscape.

Successful candidates will be intellectually agile and able to drive the development of best value, best quality, joined up services for our most vulnerable citizens. You will be experienced in working across organisational boundaries; and with citizens to deliver successful outcomes.

This post provides an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with key partner agencies to secure the best emotional wellbeing and mental health outcomes for children and young people between the ages of 0 – 25 years across Warwickshire.

The successful candidate will seek to ensure that the jointly commissioned service meets its challenging, yet innovative contractual and performance related requirements, supporting children and young people in a way that matters most to them, and their families.

Based within the Vulnerable People’s Team, the Commissioner will work with colleagues to identify strategic developments that enhance the prevention and early intervention offer for children and young people's mental health support; developing the links between domestic abuse, children's mental health and substance misuse.

Warwickshire County Council is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and is keen to address areas of under representation in its workforce and would particularly welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons from the BAME community, disabled people and people from the LGBT+ Community.
