About Us & The Role
As Referral and Placement Officer your primary role will be to lead and support social care colleagues in sourcing good quality placements that can meet the needs of Warwickshire's looked after children.
You will be part of a team, working directly alongside two other Referral and Placement's officers in the placement hub, and will be an integral part of the wider placement hub's functions and processes. Working in a busy office environment you will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritise efficiently to ensure information shared with social care colleagues is accurate and up to date.
Key features of the role will see the applicant being responsible for reviewing referrals to ensure they are strengths based, accurate and balanced whilst offering support and guidance to colleagues where amendments can be made to enable Warwickshire to source the right placement, first time.
Other requirements of the role will be to work closely with social care colleagues in understanding need and subsequently negotiating packages of care for children in placement.
As part of the commissioning team you will also work closely with Commissioners within the Accommodation Based Support Team to support contract management functions applicable to the role as well as keep them abreast of changes in placement activity including needs of children and young people.
