This exciting new post aims to support the facilitation of high quality community activities for people in need in Tamworth and the surrounding area.

Heart of Tamworth Community Project is a registered charity currently providing or facilitating a wide range of activities and support groups for people of all ages.  The community development officer will recruit, manage and support the volunteers delivering our activities.  They will also work with the community to identify and develop new activities aimed at alleviating loneliness and social isolation and helping people in need.  A key part of the role is working with and strengthening effective relationships with partner agencies.

Experience of working with and training volunteers, working effectively with a range of agencies, and developing services for vulnerable people are all essential.  We are looking for a creative and self-motivated person with knowledge of the challenges faced by people in need.  Excellent organisational and communication skills are also required.

Hours of work are 18.5 per week, which could include occasional evenings and weekends. The ability to drive and have own transport is desirable but not essential.

Closing date for applications is noon on 28 November 2019; interviews will take place on Friday 6 December 2019.
