Hours of work to be between 7.30am-6.00pm Monday – Friday
Full Time 35-40 hours per week.

Pheasey Park Farm Primary School Children’s Centre is run by the Governors of Pheasey Park Farm School.  The Children’s Centre is an integral part of the school offering support for families and child-care which was cited as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in 2017.  

Due to an increase in numbers in January 2020 we are looking to appoint a Room Leader Full Time to work with our 2-3 year olds.  The Nursery provides full day care provision for children aged 0 months to 4 years, as well as wraparound for 3 and 4 years accessing their Nursery Education funded places and before and after school clubs.  We are currently redesigning our provision to better meet the needs of our local community whilst further developing our business model to ensure its’ sustainability.  The successful applicants will strengthen the Nursery staff team and contribute positively to a high quality learning environment.

Key responsibilities for Early Years’ Room Leader role include:

  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with planned programmes of activities and take responsibility for the display of children’s work;
  • Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher/centre manager, to support children to achieve agreed learning goals;
  • Take responsibility for planning of learning activities, including short, medium and long-term plans;
  • Observe and monitor children’s involvement in the learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as guided by the EYFS or National Curriculum;
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to the Centre Manager/ Senior School staff on children’s achievement, progress, challenges, etc;
  • Promote positive behaviour in all children, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage children to take responsibility for their own behaviour. Liaise with parents on strategies employed by the Centre in order to agree a consistent approach between home and the Centre;
  • Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers;

The post will work under the direction of the Children’s Centre Manager/Head Teacher. 

Successful applicants will be team players and demonstrate excellent organisational, numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.
