School Governors – Dove Bank Primary School, Rutland Road, Kidsgrove ST7 4AP

Voluntary Role – no pay

At Dove Bank Primary School, we are passionate about providing our pupils with a bespoke highly academic, enquiry based and creative curriculum, which equips them with the knowledge and cultural capital needed to succeed in life.

We currently have a number of vacancies for governors and would ideally (but not essentially) like to hear from applicants who have experience in the following areas:

• Previous experience of working within education
• HR
• Finance
• Health & Safety

All newly appointed governors receive support and appropriate training where necessary.

A governing body works with the school to ensure it delivers a good quality education and together with the headteacher, who is responsible for day-to-day management of the school, set the school’s aims and policies.

The full governing body meets once every half term and committees meet termly.

Individual governors also take a lead role on behalf of the governing body in all curriculum areas as well as Health and Safety, Pupil Premium, Child Protection and Safeguarding and Special Educational needs.  All governors report back on their visits to school at the full governing body meetings.
