An exciting opportunity has arisen to help improve the quality of Looked After Children’s lives, working as a Contracts Officer in the Children’s Commissioning Team to oversee the quality of children’s placements.

The role

The role involves monitoring the quality of provision for Looked After Children, including undertaking visits to residential, fostering and supported accommodation providers, responding to complaints, developing relationships with providers and ensuring that quality standards are met.

Have direct experience of working in a service that supports children or vulnerable adults in the local authority, health or education Have a strong understanding of and commitment to safeguarding children Have experience of contract management and/or project management. Have a strong understanding of quality issues. Have a passion for improving outcomes and services for children, young people and their families Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

We are a small team of commissioners and contract officers who oversee the commissioning of provision for Looked After Children. You will be joining Coventry City Council at an exciting time and working in our prestigious new Friargate offices within Children’s Social Care Commissioning, which is part of the People Directorate.
