Job Details

Come and join an ambitious and dynamic corporate leadership team to lead on the Council's strategic planning and economic growth programme.

South Staffordshire Council's story is one of drive, determination and ambition. Our recent LGA Peer Review reported that the leadership of the Council was "very impressive" with "strong evidence of ambition and innovation" and that the Council 'was in a strong position to meet future challenges".

So this is a great time to be joining a progressive Council and drive forward our exciting and ambitious economic growth programmes and identify new opportunities for the district too. You will have strategic responsibility for our major development projects across the District and will be focused on outside partnerships to make growth and opportunities a reality.

You will be the strategic lead on our Local Plan, which is well underway and inspire our professional planning service to ensure all our development is supported by strong community engagement, sustainability and high quality design.

For this key corporate role you will have a track record in master planning, delivering major infrastructure projects, housing growth and investment. You will need to be a credible senior manager, an inspirational leader, a true team player, have an entrepreneurial mind set and be politically astute.
