Senior Commissioning Officer– Ref: SS02819
Salary: G10 £36,876 - £41,675 per annum

Fixed Term / Secondment Opportunity until 31st March 2020 (with the possibility of an extension)

At Walsall Council we are “Proud of our past, our present and for our future”.

Walsall Council Adult Social Care commissioning is a progressive service and following significant investment we have an exciting opportunity to join us.  We encourage our commissioners to lead, support and challenge our internal workforce and external market to ensure good quality, outcome based services that meet the needs of Walsall residents. We have big plans and major projects underway including development of an Integrated Intermediate Care pathway and reviewing what Accountable Care organisations means for us.

In this new world we expect our commissioners to be transformational, innovative leaders, who apply learnt experience of organisational change and systems thinking in the day job and ensure residents are empowered to shift from an imposed model  of care delivery,  to one that prioritises asset based.

We welcome applications from candidates that can demonstrate this experience or uniqueness which will complement our existing workforce and meet the duties required within the job description. Applicants with experience or interest in Complex Care (Learning Disabilities, Autism) and Mental Health would be particularly welcome.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.

If you would like an informal discussion about this role, please contact 01922 655657 and ask to speak to Carol Jones.

Previous applicants need not re-apply.

  • Interview Date: 4th and 5th December 2019
  • Closing Date: Thursday 28th November 2019

Internal applicants should note that before applying for a secondment opportunity they should seek the support of their line manager in the first instance.
