Job Details
An exciting opportunity has become available in a busy Special Educational Needs team. You will be part of a team working with children and young people between the ages of 0-25 years with SEND. You will play a pivotal role in the continued development of effective partnership working between health, education and social care with a focus on leading and coordinating SEN casework for post 16 students. You will also contribute to the review and development of local post 16 policy and practice.
You will:
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience meeting statutory and legislative guidance in relation to special needs and experience of working within a post 16 context to include working directly with young people, parents, schools and post 16 providers
- Have a working knowledge of SEN related legislation, the SEN Code of Practice and other current issues in education
- Be self-motivated and organised with effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Have an ability to analyse reports, and write/update Education, Health and Care Plans
- Have initiative and problem-solving skills
- Have a positive, energetic and enthusiastic outlook
