This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented member of staff to join an ambitious team who are focused on securing outstanding provision for our students. This post would suit an individual who is driven to support the academy on our journey and committed to improving the lives of our vulnerable students.

Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy is situated in the north-east area of Wolverhampton. There are approximately 850 students attending the academy which includes 100 who are Sixth Form. This is an extremely exciting time to join us on our journey to becoming an outstanding Academy

We have close links with the University Of Wolverhampton who are our Academy Sponsor. This brings a range of professional learning opportunities which are funded as part of employment

In our most recent OFSTED report it was noted that students feel safe and well cared for and that staff morale is high, this is extremely important to us.

Wednesfield High are seeking to appoint a talented, energetic and enthusiastic Safeguarding Officer. We are looking for a candidate who will committed to supporting our most vulnerable students. They will be able to inspire students and offer support, as well as being resourceful and keen to achieve the highest possible standards for our young people.

The post would be ideal for anyone with ambition, drive and passion who wants to work with a committed team of professional staff. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

The succesful candidate will be required to be a designated first aider and therefore will be required to complete the relevant training.

A daily lunchtime duty is essential to the post.

A relevant safeguarding qualification

Experience of strategies / interventions to assist disadvantaged/vulnerable students

Demonstrate appropriate inter-personal skills

Greenheart Learning Partnership (GLP) is proud to be an academies sponsor.

We are accredited as a sponsor by the DfE in recognition of our drive, expertise and capacity, as well as the experience we bring from a wide variety of backgrounds and sectors.

We operate as a Partnership. We have twelve schools within the Partnership already converted to academies, ten primary and two secondary.

We have many more schools interested in working with us and our aim is to create a Partnership Family of around 20-25 schools. This will establish a network of schools working collaboratively on supportive, rigorous and sustainable approaches to school improvement.

Greenheart is drawing upon our experience and track record of school improvement developed over the last 16 years since the formation of BCCSIP (Black Country Children’s Services Improvement Partnership).  The expertise we developed through running the recent highly successful Black Country Challenge programme also underpins our activity.  We have an excellent knowledge of our locality and a proven track record of making a difference for schools.

Our structured development and improvement process is built on the results we have achieved in education over the last 15 years. Each academy within the Partnership commits to a core programme, including an initial audit process which helps to build a bespoke action plan to address school performance and improve the life chances of pupils.
