Sandwell Children’s Trust are recruiting for Social Workers for the Fostering Assessments Team, we are looking for exceptional candidates who are passionate, committed and dedicated to improving the lives of children & young people.

Salary range: £29,636 - £39,782 dependent on experience plus the possibility of up to £6,500 relocation package.

Sandwell’s Fostering Service is making significant strides in its development. The service has recently been inspected by Ofsted and received a rating of Requiring Improvement to be Good. This judgement reflects the progress and journey that the Fostering Service is making to ensure that it can provide a range of safe and nurturing placements to vulnerable children by well supported, experienced Foster Carers.

As a Social Worker working with the Fostering Service you will:-

  • Be child focussed and demonstrate your commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for children through your practice
  • Be able to provide high quality, focussed supervision to carers and promote the training and development of foster carers within the service
  • Have good assessment and recording skills and be able to provide clear and concise reports to a range of forums.

About you: -

  • You will be Social Work qualified with at least 2 years post qualifying experience; and registered with Social Work England.
  • Have experience of working within a fostering team or a good level of experience of working within childcare or safeguarding teams who are ready to make a move in to a Fostering role.
  • You will be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of safeguarding, fostering services and related agendas, practice and policies, as well as thorough knowledge of all associated legislation.
  • Have the ability to remain organised, formulate and maintain accurate plans, reports and records and the ability to meet deadlines is essential.
  • Most importantly you will be child focused and have be able to demonstrate this throughout your career.
