Job Details
The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our committed and dedicated team. They should be proactive, show initiative at all times and have a firm but fair approach. They should have the welfare and safety of our children at heart at all times.
The successful candidates will provide a high level of care for all of the children and have the desire to work with children.
They will take responsibility for Nursery aged children from 11.30 – 12.30 at Lunchtime to ensure the pupils’ welfare, safety and supervision at all times. They will support the whole school lunch provision from 12.30 – 1.20.
Candidates should have the following qualities and experience:
* minimum of NVQ level 2 in a relevant qualification
* assisting pupils with dress/changing for activities/personal hygiene
* of working in an educational establishment
* as a Teaching Assistant
*of supporting children working in EYFS
* of providing support to children with varying challenges
* in creating resources to help the child/ren they are supporting
* PECS/TEACCH or Makaton training is also an advantage
The person appointed will have high standards and expectations in all areas of school life and will be committed to a teamwork approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering basic first aid, if required (training will be provided).
Blackheath Primary School is committed to safeguarding children, we take our responsibility extremely seriously. The successful candidate will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
