Based at Worcester Fire Station and YSS HQ in Blackpole, Worcester
Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2021
A new temporary opportunity has arisen in the Community Risk Department, in conjunction with West Mercia Police, based at Worcester both within the Community Risk Department and at the YSS HQ in Blackpole, Worcester. There will also be a requirement to travel throughout the two counties.
The main purpose of the job is to develop and support the delivery of project #MORSE – Making our roads safer for everyone.
Project MORSE is a brand new innovative road safety project funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner. It is a collaborative project with West Mercia Police, the Charity YSS and West Mercia Community Rehabilitation. The role will involve researching and putting together a range of road safety educational programs and delivering them in individual or group settings. The individuals will be referred from West Mercia Police and the Charity YSS with the objective of changing behaviour around road risk.
The aim of the programmes we deliver will be to increase awareness of road safety aiming to help individuals make better and safer choices on the road. These educational programmes will be based on the actions that have led to them being referred to us as well as being focused on the risk groups identified by the department for transport, younger drivers, older drivers, 2 wheeled vehicles and rural roads.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and co-ordinating #MORSE road safety education programs in addition to delivering road safety education in both one to one and group settings.
A full job description and person specification can be found in the attachments below.
For any further queries regarding the role, please contact Station Commander Amy Bailey on abailey@hwfire.org.uk or 07810 656108.
The successful applicant will be subject to a NPPV Level 2 Vetting Check, as the post may involve working within West Mercia Police premises.
