Project Manager – (Public Sector Energy Efficiency Programme)
£29,675 - £31,972 35hours PCW

Worcestershire has a diverse natural environment and is also one of the fastest growing economies in the Country.  The Sustainability Team in the County Council runs several projects to help Worcestershire organisations reduce their adverse environmental impact.

The Sustainability Team is seeking a dedicated project manager to deliver the Public Sector Energy Efficiency Programme (PEEP); a new programme supporting Worcestershire public sector organisations to improve their energy efficiency and install renewable energy systems.

The varied work involved in project managing this advice and grants programme includes day-to-day liaison with organisations, administering grants, and budget management. You will contract and work closely with energy efficiency and renewable energy advisors to deliver the project.  The project also involves planning and running events and marketing the support available. The project will support a wide range of public sector organisations in the cost effective cutting of their carbon emissions.

If you have experience of project management, preferably publicly funded projects, experience of managing budgets and working with partners, knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy systems and the issues public sector organisations face, this could be the job for you.

Working within a supportive team, you will work alongside colleagues delivering other European funded advice and grant programmes, as well as other sustainability work within the community and the Council. The Sustainability Team is part of the County Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Directorate.

The post is fixed term until the end of September 2022, (subject to further funding approval, the post may be extended until June 2023).  It is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Worcestershire County Council operates a policy of flexible working and staff regularly work from home or an alternative work base, typically two days per week or 40% of their working hours.
