An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Pensions Assistant within the Fund’s Retirement and Death Team.
The West Midlands Pension Fund is a local authority Pension Fund based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. The Fund is one of the UK’s largest pension funds, managing and administering the pension interest of our members and scheme employers. We currently have over 323,000 scheme members, 673 employers with £16bn of assets under management.
The Fund provides a customer-focused and quality service working cost effectively to secure the future of our member’s pensions.
We are seeking a highly organised and flexible full-time Pensions Assistant with good mathematical, communication and technical skills.
The position includes responsibility for:
- To analyse data and/or member benefits to ensure the right information is held and processed correctly to ensure accurate recording, quotation and payment of individual member benefits.
- To calculate and verify adjustments to pensioner member benefits as a result of applying the pension increase legislation modification or Guaranteed Minimum Pension when attaining state pension age, complying with pension payroll timescales within the set KPI.
- To deal with a range of correspondence, telephone queries and personal visits from Scheme members. Respond to all enquiries in a positive and professional manner and process them in accordance with the Funds procedures.
- To manage a high volume of workload, prioritising tasks and developing working practices to ensure efficient working, focused on meeting the Fund KPIs and delivering a high-quality service.
