The City of Wolverhampton Council has a Corporate Landlord Service that brings together the Council’s considerable land and property assets into a single portfolio. The service is well positioned to take a more strategic approach to the management of Council assets.

In this general practice surveying role, as Valuation Officer at the Estates Team, you will be responsible for management of the Council’s diverse land and property portfolio which will include undertaking valuations, estate management of all commercial property classes, , lease renewals and rent reviews, and disposal of surplus assets with minimal supervision. Working to the Council’s Strategic Asset Plan, disposal and investment strategies, you will take an innovative approach to the growth agenda to maximise revenue.

You will provide recommendations on which property and land assets to retain, develop, or sell with an in-depth market knowledge supporting such recommendations . You will also work collaboratively with other services as part of the Council’s transformation programme.

As the successful candidate you will be an experienced commercial practice surveyor, with relevant qualifications. Whether from the public or private sector, you will also be politically astute and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, you will be innovative and have the confidence to take measured risks in improving service delivery and achieving excellence.
